Yesterday we covered delayed gratification. Now we’re going to look at the compound effect.

The compound effect has nothing to do with interest; interest is a result of the compound effect though. The compound effect is just the eighth wonder of the world, according to Einstein.

What’s so great about it? Well, there are several well-known examples. Lets look at everyone’s favorite.

Would you rather have $1million right now, or 1 cent today, then 2 cents tomorrow, then 4 cents the next day… etc etc, for the nedxt 30 days?

You all know the answer to this. The latter option will end in you getting $10million in your account!

So $1million now, or $10million in a month? Talk about delayed gratification!

Of course, that’s only a story, and I know no one who has ever been offered such a preposterous proposition! Heres an example closer to home.

You’re working on a big project but you don’t know if you can do it all by yourself. So you delegate a few tasks to a few of your colleagues or managers. They don’t want to do work so they will delegate to employees, who may or may not delegate to other people.

There you have a nice little hierarchy.

Now I’m sure all of you have heard of referral marketing, network marketing, etc… and they all follow the same principle. Usually. I don’t dabble in referral marketing but I can speak for network marketing.

You have a leader who goes and recruits a sales force of ten people to help promote a product. However, only 2 of them only actively promote the product, the other 8 just get lazy.

These two people, in order to promote the product, also recruits 10 people each to help promote the product. And only 2 people in each group actively promote the product.

Those four each recruit 10 to promote the product and of course only 2 people in each group actively promote the product.

You have one guy, then two, and each two has two, and each of them has two. 2-4-8, 14 people in his sales force!

All the leader needs to do is teach his two people to do what he did, and help the new people out. As he begins to recruit a few more people onto his sales force, his recruits are also recruiting, and what do we have? Well, he already has 14 people who are building his organization downwards, and they will keep duplicating his steps. Imagine if each of his two people did the 2-4-8 strategy. His organization would double!

Too good to be true? Of course it is. No one ever said it was easy to be a network marketing business owner. But with hard work, dedication, and the right system for duplication, you can get a nice income on your hands.

The compound effect is astounding. Once you know it, you merely need to teach it to others to duplicate, and two can turn into four, into eight, into sixteen… I needn’t go further!

It doesn’t apply to only network marketing. It applies to life. Teach a person something, and if they teach it to a few other people who teach it to a few other people, suddenly after 5 degrees of separation, you’ve an entire multitude of people who has learned from you!

And there’s only one thing that fuels the compound effect: knowledge. They say knowledge is power; knowledge fuels the compound effect. Once you can effectively communicate knowledge to others, you really only need to relay it to a few people, and teach them the importance of teaching, for your knowledge to get spread out quickly!

It’s great to be a teacher & mentor… being able to see how far your knowledge spreads in the span of a week… especially with the new social media things, it’s great! I like seeing how many people’s lives I touch, it’s nice for sure.

So think about the compound effect and how you could apply it to leverage your time and money, and how you could use it to change your life!

Oh, and keep in mind that the compound effect can work against you.

Rack up a few hundred thousand dollars in debt and watch the interest payments throw you into bankruptcy. Don’t let it happen.

To your abundance,
Rasheed

Take a look at this!

http://rayhigdon.com/top-mlm-tips-your-questions-answered/

I am featured near the bottom of the article. Whoo!

Anyway, to business.

Do you practice delay gratification?

Do you forfeit a current pleasure for a greater, future pleasure?

Let’s look at an example. You have $1000 of disposable income in your account (baller!) and you pass by the Apple store and see an iPad. You really want an iPad even though you know that you don’t really need it. Will you buy it or not?

Maybe that’s a bit of an extreme example. Most of you guys will say, “No!”

How about this: You have $50 of disposable income in your account. That’s all of your disposable income for the paycheck. Since you have fifty bucks, you go and treat you and your family out to a fifty dollar dinner! And you do this every paycheck. I mean, it’s disposable income. You’re not taking money away from your bills or anything. You’re just getting dinner with your family. What’s wrong with that?

Well, nothing… unless you’re one of the 80+% of Americans who does not save any portion of their income. 401K’s don’t count, I’m talking about savings. Saving consistently and saving all the time. 5%, 10%, anything, as long as it is consistent.

Now you can start asking yourself. Is sacrificing a dinner every two weeks worth a good financial backing in your future?

We want to think long-term. Not short term. Instant gratification makes you happy now, but does not necessarily make you happy in the future. Delayed gratification means putting off your current pleasures in order to pursue a greater one. It can be either in money, relationships, time, etc.

You can save your money now and have a lot to invest later. You can be patient with your loved ones now and experience a relationship with less stress later. You can take some time to plan now, ahead of time, in order to save some time later.

Exercise is another one. Who likes to get up at 5am to exercise? Well, if having a toned body is worth it to you, you will sacrifice a little bit of sleep to get that body you want.

That’s why it’s always important to ask: what do you want to accomplish in the future? Will your small activity hinder that goal?

When I was in high school, I was in the habit of buying an energy drink… well, quite often. They were expensive (around $3 each) and not good for my health. So eventually I figured I’d just stop drinking energy drinks so often, both for my wallet, and for my health in the long run.

More recently, I used to be in the habit of buying a soda a few times a week. I prefer cold beverages over hot beverages (I have burnt my tongue all too many times!). Sodas were cheaper than energy drinks and since they don’t have the crazy herbs in them, they are also “healthier” (note, sodas are not very healthy, but healthier than most energy drinks out there). Sodas are also cheaper ($1.50). However, it still takes a toll. Right now I’ve limited myself to one soda per week (sometimes I just need a caffeine boost), but I’ve also increased my intake of fruits. Ideally I’d like to quit soda altogether, because it’ll save me some money and it’ll lead to a healthier diet. But I’m slowly weaning myself away from sodas.

But here’s the question. What’s the soda cost? Many people buy lattes every day. What’s the latte cost?

Let’s say $3 latte. That’s cheap for a latte.

$3/day * 7 days/week = $21/week

$21/week * 52 weeks/year = $1092/year.

Do you know anyone who could use an extra $1092 per year? I do. Oftentimes I see them buying lattes every day.

And many of them buy lattes for the entire family of 3, 4, 5! That’s $3000, $4000, $5000 per year! You know anyone who can use a $5000 raise? They can give it to themselves by dropping the latte!

And that’s what delayed gratification is about. Looking at the entire picture. Thinking long-term.

Here’s another thing to think about. Do you drive when it is just as easy to walk? Grocery store’s a 15 minute walk away. Do you take a 5 minute drive to go there and back? Well, a 5 minute drive takes around .2 gallons. To and from, that’s .4 gallons. If you go to the store 2-3 times a week, that’s .8-1.2 gallons per week. Over the course of a year, that’s around 52 gallons that you could have saved. Gas costs $3 per gallon, you could save a whopping $150 per year. Does that seem like much?

Well, to me, it is. A lot of times I find myself regretting, “I shouldn’t have spent on X because I’d have X more money in my account and I’d be able to invest it in my business!”

So is $150 worth an extra few minutes of walking, which is also exercise? Heck, kill three birds with one stone and bring a friend, spouse, sibling, and chat with them while walking. Make it fun to save money!

So I’ll let you ponder that for a bit. Until then, stay sharp!

To your abundance,

Rasheed

Who do you look up to? Do you look up to Barack Obama, President of the US? Do you look up to Kobe Bryant, all-star basketball player?

Looking up...

Muhammad Ali, champion wrestler? Brad Pitt, sexy movie star? Angelina Jolie? Your father? Mother? Uncle? Boss? Mentor? Teacher? I can go on and on. But needless to say, not every famous person neither can nor should be a good role model.

Heres an example. Miley Cyrus was a role model for all kids who watched Hannah Montana. They all looked up to her, and because kids are easily malleable, they also were heavily influenced by her as a person and an actress, on stage and off stage.

Maybe when Miley was a kid she was good, but I think we can all agree that kids should NOT be emulating after her as she is now. I don’t know what her latest drama is, nor do I care. I’ve seen some scandalous pictures of her on my MSNBC news feed, and just by that I know I wouldn’t want my kids to emulate after her. She’s 17 years old and living a vida loca, not in the good way either.

Now I’m not here to criticize Miley Cyrus. Maybe one day she’ll realize that her life as a young skanky celebrity will only attract Mr. Creeper next door. But as of right now, following her as a role model may not be the best idea.

So who would be a good role model for you and/or your kids?

Well, I like Muhammad Ali. I like his philosphy on training. He hated every moment of training, but he knew that by training, he could be a champion. And he became a champion.

Who else do I like? Well, Zig Ziglar’s got a pretty inspirational story. He used to be a fat man with no motivation to do anything. Now he’s an old man with the motivation to take over the world!

I also like the story of my own mentor, Ray Higdon. He was in real estate for a bit. But then after the real estate market pretty much crushed his bank account to $300, he decided to take his life into his own hands and build an empire. Fast forward a little more than a year later (which is now), he makes $40k-$60k per month, got a free car (2011 Beemer) from the company he works with, has been on a free cruise, a free vacation to Atlantis, and is about to go onto another free cruise sometime next year.

He does his work with integrity, is interested in helping people out, and has a cute little dog named Baxter. Ray’s just a great leader, and though I don’t agree wih a few of his personal philosophies (you’ll never agree 100% with anyone’s personal philosophies), I still admire his confidence and dedication to his business and business mentees/partners.

But my role models may not necessarily be the same as yours. My role models reflect who I want to be when I grow up. For business, it’s Ray Higdon and Joel Burrell. For law, it’s Gerry Spence. For engineering, it’s… some guy. For religion, it’s our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

So who do you want to be? If you’re a striving doctor, go look up a few renowned doctors and see how they conduct their work. Heck, email them. You’d be surprised at the ones who reply. If you ever get one who replies, stick with him. It means that he respects your interest in him and wants to earn the name of a role model.

Linguist? Noam Chomsky. I’ve emailed him before and he replied. And he’s the world’s expert on linguistics.

Athlete? Cant help you there. The only thing I know about baseball is the world cup. (Yes that’s a joke)

Okay, enough professions. What about personal development? There are tons of people who have gone zero to hero. Some people didn’t even start at zero, like me! I think I’m approaching zero now though and you can learn my story. Lol.

Sometimes Corporate America gives you a kick in the face and you don’t care what your profession is at that time, you just want your net worth to get back in the black! Well, that’s when you go consult your village failure-turned-success and read his story. How a man can go from $1million in debt (via real estate of course, I think real estate is the only industry where this can happen lol) to an income of $1million per year in 3 years.

And I think role models like that are the most important. As I firmly believe, a profession cannot define your life. A lifestyle does. And would you rather have a 9-5 lifestyle or a 10 hour work-week where you get paid tons of money doing what you want to do when you want to do it?

It’s a lifestyle…

And that brings me to my project.

This week will be a week of hope. A week of change. A week of… Barack Obama campaigning??

I will be working on migrating my domain from this wordpress-hosted site to my own personal site. This will give me and you many more features in terms of controlling the blog. Which is optimal for this project…

What is this project? Well, I’ll tell you tomorrow. There’s only one thing I can tell you about it.

It’s a thanks for reading my blog.

To your abundance,

Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to announce my latest project…

Project B.Logg.

The past couple days, I have been talking about who you want to be, and how to choose a role model.

It is sad to say, but our society doesn’t seem to appreciate good role models. Look at the news. All you see is news about politics, crime, violence, suicides… controversial things. News programs make their money from ads, and ads pay good money to high trafficked news stations. So news stations try to just get good ratings so more people will watch. More people watching means more people watching ads means more people giving buying from advertisers means… more money to the news stations.

It’s all about the green, sadly.

There are a few non-profit news stations but that goes outside the scope of this post.

Who are some famous people? Oprah Winfrey. Barack Obama. Arnold Schwarzenegger. All the movie stars. They’re all famous, and that’s great. But the media and our society portrays them to be God-like and infallible, and even use their good name to promote products. Society wants us to look up to these famous people. And there’s no problem with that.

But how many of us actually know who these famous people are? About their past? Their present? What they want in their future? How many of us can relate with Brad Pitt (and not just because you’re as sexy as he is!)

Role models need to be human. Relatable. People will be more likely to relate to a person who has had a similar past as they, and they will read on how they overcame their struggle. That will inspire them infinitely, and they will go on to do great things with their lives.

Sad to say, many people do not have role models that they can relate to.

That’s what Project B.Logg is about. People need a role model, whether they know it or not. A person they can use to create external judgment. A person about whom they can ask themselves, “What would _____ do in this situation?”

And that’s what I am hoping to achieve with this project. Project B.Logg is going to change the way you look at role models. It’s going to change the way you look at personal development. It will be more effective than any “how to” book.

And best of all, it will be FREE… but only for a limited time.

It is a big “thank-you” for all who read my blog. And I don’t believe you guys should have to pay to experience this project.

However… I believe a project like this, if successful, shouldn’t be free forever. During the free-trial period, I will be working with a few companies to see if I can sell the finished product. Once it gets approved, the intellectual property will no longer be mine and will belong to the company… so it won’t be mine to give away anymore.

And that is why I am promoting this project now. It is a big project. But I want it to be LIVE by the end of this month. And you, my loyal readers, will keep me to that commitment. I am still only a college student and my studies take precedence, and naturally I would like to relax a bit after a long day of midterms or finals or whatever.

But I don’t want to rest. I have a drive to finish this project by the end of the month, so if you don’t see a blogpost talking about it at the end of this month, YELL AT ME. Seriously.

With enough people hounding me down, I will have to finish the project sooner!

Of course, to keep things fun, I will have a few neat things that I think you guys will enjoy.

I’ll keep you posted.

To your success,

Rasheed

So perhaps my post yesterday did not make sense. Let me sense-itize you.

Who?

So who do you want to be? I thought of a way to explain this while I was driving. Would you rather be a millionaire… but your money came from being an anonymous Nigerian prince who scammed thousands of others out of their money? Or would you rather be… comfortable, to say the least, but knowing that your money came from ethical means?

The choice you choose defines your character. Not your being or entity, just what values you … well, value! Personally, I value integrity, honesty, humility, hard-working-ness (yes I just made two words this post! I’m gonna be famous!) The problem is, many people cannot answer that question honestly. Sure, it’s easy to say “Of course I’d rather be comfortable and ethically getting money!” But faced with the situation, would you do the right thing? Would you do the ethical thing?

Here’s another example. A thief robs a bank, and you’re the only witness. But he offers you $1 million to shut up say you saw nothing. If I asked any of you to comment your decision, you’d definitely say “Hell no! I’m takin’ you to prison!”

But would you really do that if faced with the decision? $1 million is a lot of money… if spent wisely, you’d be job free for the rest of your life. You’d be able to live where you want to live… do what you want to do… with who you want to do it with. You sure you want to pass up that money? No one will ever know…

So what would you really do? Don’t answer to me. The answer is only important to yourself. And don’t lie to yourself. Of course there’s going to be a conflict of interest. You think of yourself as a highly ethical person, no doubt about that, but your heart would be tugging at you to take the money. You’d tell yourself “I wouldn’t take the money, I’m more ethical than that!” but half your heart would be telling you, “it’s okay!!”

So what would you do? Think about it. And think about if you really want to be that person. That person who would take the money. Chances are, you are that person. Am I that person? Honestly, I couldn’t tell you. I would like to think that my ethics are high enough to be able to resist a huge temptation like that. Plus, I already have an amazing opportunity on my hands and soon enough, I probably won’t even need that money. But we’re looking at the now. And would I like a million bucks? Hell yeah! But would I want to sacrifice everything I stand for just for the selfish need of… making my family happy? I would have to live with that bastard I call myself, knowing that I let a bank robber get away. That’s makes a bad reputation for a prosecuting attorney!

The point is, the who you want to be should be a person you’re happy with. The only person you will stay with for the rest of your life is not your significant other. It is not your mom (hopefully not!). It is you so you better go and make sure that you don’t hate yourself.

The best way to do this… is with a role model! A role model like Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Sammy Sosa? No. I’ll go more into selecting a viable role model in tomorrow’s post.

Until then, stay sharp!

To your success,

We’ve all asked kids, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” (though I personally like, “What do you want to do when you grow up” because a child should never grow up believing a job defines their life. That’s another topic though) and they usually say something cute, like “an astronaut!” or “a doctor!” or “a fireman!”

Most adults don’t really take the child seriously when they say that because they’re kids. Most people don’t even know what they want to do even in high school. Major changes are imminent in college. So they take what the kid says with a grain of salt, and merely talk to the kid just because kids like to talk.

Then the kid grows up and starts a profession and then that’s their future. They start their job, start investing in their 401k’s, turn 80 (because 80 is the new 75 is the new 72 is the new 65!), then retire. Right? Unless they don’t want to be that person who retires at 80.

But that doesn’t only apply to children. It applies to everyone. In 20-40 years from now, who do you want to be? We are all grown up so we can’t say “what do you want to be when you grow up” or anything like that. It’s who. Do you want to be the person who retires with peanuts for salary, unable to walk down your own front porch without assistance from your significant other, who also can’t walk down those steps? Do you want to be the person who is old but fit as ever, still running marathons, still biking, still active, and whose children didn’t shove him into a nursing home? Do you want to be the person who builds a successful business in their youth (hey, you’re still in your youth at 40!) and gets to reap the benefits of their hard work? Who do you want to be?

Why do I ask this question? Because we all have an identity. We all have some idea of who we are, what we do, what we want to do, why we do what we do, etc… we can all describe ourselves in the present. However, what is more important is how you describe yourself in the future. After all, the present doesn’t exist instantaneously. The present I refer to right now has now become the past. Cool huh?

This is not very unlike setting your goals for the future. However, that is only one part of who you want to be. Your who is much more important to you than your what. Studies have shown that a person’s name is the most important word to them. It’s why tarnishing someone’s name may be the biggest insult to him, but praising his name would be the biggest compliment ever. Would you prefer a friend tell another friend, “oh, he’s nice” or “yeah Rasheed’s really nice!” I prefer the former. It’s all psychology.

So who are you right now? Yes you have a name. But who are you? Get to know yourself. You’ll need to for the next part of this post…

Defining your future with your identity.

To your abundance,

Rasheed

The world needs teachers. There’s no doubt about that. Without your parents teaching you to read or talk, you’d be an illiterate person not being able to function properly in the world. Worse yet, you wouldn’t be able to read my blog!! I know that is a terrible thought, but aren’t you happy you can read?

Without your grade school teachers you wouldn’t know a lot of things! It is essential for the world to have teachers. No doubt about that. There are too many mistakes to make in the world for any one person to make them all. That is why we have teachers who teach us the right things to do, and who tell us what the wrong things to do are. This does not necessarily mean school teachers. Now don’t get me wrong, being a school teacher is a very noble job; it is very difficult and the pay is not stellar for the amount of work done. My mother’s a school teacher, so I know this for a fact.

But who says we need credentials in order to teach? Well, the government says we need credentials in order to teach academics. But there’s more to life than academics. You can burn me at the stake later. There are many things that school just doesn’t teach. For example, how to spend wisely. I hang out a lot at my school’s cafe eating my mother’s nicely prepared lunch for me, and the place is crowded with people buying overpriced food. And some people eat there every day. I used to eat out every day. Even a dollar a day grew expensive. Twenty dollars per month can be saved just by bringing food from home. Don’t even get me started on the amount of money people will throw down for a game of beer pong.

Another example is how to manage a love life! It seems like the craze in college, for guys at least, is to sleep around with as many girls as possible! To me, that’s just a waste of talent. Believe me. It took until high school to learn that talking to a girl isn’t such a splendorous feat to go bragging to my friends. Haha.

Anyway, my point is that the academic system is not set up to make successful people out of all of us. It’s set up to educate. And education does not necessarily entail success. I know some highly educated people who are single, lonely, and hate every moment of it. Just Google “Lawyer Suicide” and let the search results astound you. I know some uneducated people who have families they absolutely love, and love their lives. It doesn’t matter how much money they make, it matters if they’re happy with their lives.

Of course, it’s never bad to be educated and successful.

And that brings me to where I left off in my last post. Make a mistake, learn to fix it/fix it, and teach it.

We need people who are willing to humble themselves enough to admit that they’ve made a mistake. You know those arrogant guys who think they’re so perfect? Those are the kinds of people we don’t need. They make a mistake. They learn to fix it when no one’s looking. Then they fix it themselves and let no one know of the mistake. That helps people… how? It doesn’t. Many people may or may not fall into that guy’s mistake.

Now of course, not everyone is required to help people out. Anyone can do whatever the hell they want, and the world will not stop turning. But in my opinion, it is nice to help people out. That is why I have this blog. I’ve made my share of mistakes in my life, but I also read a lot about mistakes other people have made in their lives. So I share them with you guys on this blog.

Are you cut out to be a teacher? All it takes is a bit of humility and the want to serve others. If you have neither of those, don’t bother teaching because you’ll just get frustrated.

And in one week’s time… you guys will be treated to a nice little treat I’m putting my heart into this project. More info later.

To your success,

Rasheed

We’ve all taken exams before. We’ve all done homework before. That’s just how life is. We turn in something to someone, they look it over, tell us what’s wrong with it, and then we look at what we did wrong.

At times, my exams turned more into a coloring book of red ink than it was a returned exam.

The question is, what did we do with our returned work? Did we toss it away? Did we use it as firewood? Did we make a paper airplane out of it? Or did we learn from it? I find that the best way to learn in school is to make mistakes. Why did I get number 3 wrong? Because I didn’t understand this concept. I better go study it more.

Well, the same principle applies in life. Are you letting your mistakes get in the way of your success? Many times, people are afraid to venture out

because they’re afraid of failing. They’re afraid of losing. They’re afraid of making a mistake. Guess who those people are? The mediocre people who stay “comfortable” with their lives… I dunno about you, but I’m not comfortable with my life. I know that I can make it better. Ergo, I will strive to make it better.

So you’ve determined your mistake. How do you fix it?

Easy, consult the textbook! Or in the case of real life (where no textbook exists), consult someone who is already successful. Ask someone who’s in the same line of work as you are, who has probably made that mistake before, and ask what they did to get out of their hole. If your marriage is failing, and you know why but don’t know what to do about it, ask someone who was on the brink of divorce but managed to save it. If you don’t know anyone, read a book. There are tons of books on marriage. Zig Ziglar is a good marriage author. So is Gary Chapman. So go find an authority on the subject, gain the information, and apply it!

“What?” you ask, “apply it?”

Yes! Apply the information! Oftentimes I see people who read lots of books and know so much about everything in the world… but it doesn’t show! They read books on how to be a better person… but they are bona fide jerks! C’mon, raise your hands, who knows some real jerks?? Anyone? Only me? Ah well. C’est la vie.

Or some people read Kiyosaki to learn how to get financially free. Then I see them buying a venti caramel Frappuccino every day. It’s as if they are reading just to say they read. But they don’t apply. And then they wonder why they aren’t getting the results they want, even though they know how to get there. Knowing is step one. Action is step two.

What is step three? Share it. So you can guess what my next post will be about.

Till then, stay sharp!

To your success,

Foreword: I’m doing some behind-the-scenes work here on my blog. Hopefully by the end of the month I will be moving my blog over to my own website: Blog2Success.net. Until then, just bear with me. That site will have a lot more functionality than this one since I will actually own it and have control over it. That and I’ve also had midterms the past couple weeks. I know that’s no excuse… but that brings me to this post…

I overwhelmed myself. That was it. I was writing novel-sized blog posts that were more or less redundant, they were taking two to four hours of my day, and I was just getting overwhelmed. Coupled with homework, school, and other obligations, I just felt like I had no time for myself.

I’ve been listening to some successful people, and they all blog every day. I found it very difficult to blog every day when I was blogging 2-4 hours per day. It was exhausting.

Then I learned their secret. They spend maybe thirty minutes to an hour on their blog.

Hm, why didn’t I think of that?

Well, now I thought of it. I’ll be spending a little bit less time on my blog and a bit more time doing a few other things.

Another pitfall I fell into was writing too much information and not giving myself enough time to gather the information. I was writing hundreds of words in each blog post and it was really overwhelming me in terms of information I had to gather. Then before I knew it, I had writer’s block.

I knew I had to change, so now I’m going to be a bit more concise… and I’ll be employing a few more tactics to make my blog better… for YOU!

Which leads me to the topic. I made a mistake. I was diving too deeply into blogging, and things just weren’t working out. So when I realized that things were slowing down, I knew I had to act, so I asked a few successful people. Now I’m applying their advice.

That process applies to everyone. We all make mistakes. The question is whether or not we realize we’ve made that mistake.

Do we notice our mistakes? That’s step one, realizing when you’ve made a mistake. There’s a difference between “realizing” and “admitting.” People have egos and pride, so even when they realize they make a mistake, they’d rather be caught dead than admit it.

Guess where those people who are too afraid to swallow their pride go? Nowhere. Nowhere spectacular. Nowhere special. They just… are.

So realize your mistake, and fess up to it. Don’t be ashamed to make mistakes, everyone does.

Next step… will come in the next post! Check back tomorrow!

To your success,

Rasheed

Have you ever known a doctor, lawyer, engineer, businessman… take any profession, any successful person… have you ever known any of them to say, “Hey, that was easy!”

I haven’t. Maybe if you’re talking to a rather egotistical person, he’d say it was easy. “Psh, I didn’t study for the bar exam and I passed!” Or “Ha! I got top scores on the MCAT without studying!”

That’s probably a lie. Success never comes easy.

Success in anything never comes easy. It always takes hard work and discipline to get anything done.
Want to be wealthy? Well you have to learn to live within your means. It may pain you to skip that everyday coffee, or to refrain yourself from eating out every day. Or perhaps even to get up a bit earlier to prepare lunch to save money instead of eating out. It may be uncomfortable but if you want to save money, it’s necessary.

Want to be healthy? It takes know-how. Read some books on health. Refrain from eating that double cheeseburger. Exercise a few times per week. It’s not comfortable. But being a couch potato wont get you healthy.

Want to have better relationships? Read books on relationships. If it’s marital problems, there are books on that. Gary Chapman’s The Five Love Languages is a great book for relationships in general, particularly with your spouse. Dale Carnegie’s How to Win Friends and Influence People is a classic people book. John Maxwell’s Winning with People, another one that was written for more modern times. Some people are naturally friendly people. Other people turn other people off and they don’t even know why. It takes more wisdom to learn how to be likeable by many people.
